Lubango - At least thirty three Civic Electoral Education agents started today, Monday, in Lubango, Huila province, a training cycle for trainers, to act with the citizens, within the framework of the general elections on August 24.
The training, promoted by the Provincial Electoral Commission (CPE), will last for three days and will cover issues related to election monitoring and observation, and vote counting and clearance, with a view to equipping the Civic Election Education agents with the necessary tools to sensitise and mobilise voters to go to the polling stations.
After the training of the 33 trainers, groups of two, three and four elements will replicate the knowledge to 528 Civic Electoral Education agents in the province, to allow citizens to know more about the importance of voting, how, when and where to go to exercise their right of citizenship.
Speaking at the opening of the event, the president of Huíla's CPE, Dionísio Epalanga, said that the Electoral Civic Education agent plays a crucial role, for having the mission of preparing the citizen about the electoral process, thus fulfilling his/her role.
