Moçâmedes- UNITA reiterated Tuesday in Namibe province its commitment to improve social services for Angolans, if elected on August 24.
The pledge was made by the party´s candidate for Vice-President of the Republic Abel Chivukuvucu, who pointed out the sectors of education, roads, health, employment, water, energy, as the party's top priorities.
As for the social conditions of the most vulnerable populations, the government has been implementing since 2020 various programmes to assist this group.
The projects include the “Kwenda” programme, a social transfer component worth 8.500 kwanzas allocated to each beneficiary per month, as well as the fight poverty programme.
Abel Chivukuvucu expressed UNITA’s commitment to inclusive government, by creating development foundations for the welfare of all Angolans.
In his speech, the politician took the opportunity to hold awareness campaign to persuade the population to give their vote of confidence to his party.
The province of Namibe has a voting population of 264,711, corresponding to 1.8% of all Angolan voters.
