Moçâmedes - UNITA disclosed Tuesday its governance programme and electoral manifesto to supporters in Moçâmedes Municipality, south-western Namibe Province.
The document, focused on the "participatory and inclusive governance", was presented by UNITA's candidate for Vice-President, Abel Chivukuvuku, for whom Angola presents a deficit of democracy.
The politician added that from a concrete point of view, Angola is still a state in transition to democracy.
Pluralism was another theme addressed by the politician, considering it a key element, in which citizens are free to constitute their actions, political parties and churches, as long as they meet requirements demanded by the Law.
The holding of free, fair and periodic elections in the country is another premise pointed out by Abel Chivukuvuku, who considered unequal the transmission of party contents in the media channels pointing out flaws in the electoral registration process.
The politician defended the decentralization and reformulation of the state model, so that the decisions can be more coherent and active.
Roughly 14.3 million voters, of which 22, 560 abroad, are eligible to vote in the coming general elections, being the first time in the history of Angola that people living outside the country cast ballots in elections held in the country.
At least 264,711 voters have been registered in Namibe Province.
