Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, returned to Luanda Tuesday after a three-day state visit to China to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
At "4 de Fevereiro" International Airport, the Head of State was welcomed by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperança da Costa, and members of the Executive.
In the Asian country, João Lourenço carried out intense political, economic and diplomatic activity, which opened up a new era in cooperation between the two states, with the visit culminating in the signing of agreements and the renegotiation of Angola's debt to China.
Angolan President held high-level meetings with his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, and the Prime Minister, Li Qiang, as well as a courtesy meeting with the chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Assembly (Parliament), Zhao Laji.
He discussed with the Chinese authorities and private investors the various ways of financing new projects in Angola, in different sectors, with emphasis on agriculture, fisheries, oil refining, telecommunications and information technology, health and infrastructure, among other activities.
President, João Lourenço gave an interview to a local media organisation, which served to discuss the results of the visit and other aspects related to bilateral cooperation, the reality of Angola and world geopolitics. VC/ADR/DAN/DOJ
