Cunene - The current context of fight against corruption in the country requires from the judicial magistrates continuous capacity building, in order to defend with more rigour and efficiency the legality.
According to the governor of Cunene, Gerdina Didalelwa, who was speaking on Monday in Ondjiva, at the opening of the Legality Week, which marks the 42nd anniversary of the Office of the Attorney General, under the slogan "The Position of the Public Prosecutor in the New Criminal Justice System".
She recalled that, within the framework of the Constitution, the Public Prosecutor's Office is called upon to zealously perform its function of enforcing legality, establishing a close balance between the two legal levels, the Constitutional and the Penal.
The governor spoke of the growing trend of crimes such as corruption, robbery, cattle theft, paternity, drug trafficking and consumption, fraud, sexual and domestic violence, a situation that requires the justice bodies to be more dynamic in their actions and to speed up procedures.
In order to achieve this, Gerdina Didalelwa admitted that these organs should be endowed with adequate conditions.
