Luanda -Luanda Government (GPL) announced Tuesday changes in road traffic in the surroundings of Praça da República (Republic Palace) in Luanda, as of 00:00 on Wednesday, 14.
The measure is expressed in a press release reached Angop on Tuesday, stating that the move comes ahead of the inauguration of the President João Lourenço on Thursday (15).
The ban covers some streets and avenues on the surroundings of the Republic Square in Luanda.
They include Comandante Arguelles Street (Kinanga Roundabout), Dr. António Agostinho Neto Avenue (BFA-Kinanga Return), Dr. António Agostinho Neto Avenue (Fuel Pumps - Chicala 2), National Assembly Street (Carmelitas Church), National Assembly Street (UPD Roundabout) and 4 de Fevereiro Avenue (Marginal Flyover).
The measure includes the dates of military preparations for the central parade, starting this Tuesday, 13, along the António Agostinho Neto Avenue, adjacent to the Republic Palace.
The document recommends motorists to resort to alternative routes to avoid possible inconvenience.
The final results released by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), upheld by the Constitutional Court, gave the victory to the MPLA, with 51.17 percent of the votes, electing 124 MPs to the National Assembly, a body made up of 220 seats.
The results obtained by the MPLA saw João Lourenço re-elected for a second term and Esperança Costa confirmed as Vice-President of the Republic.
