Menongue – The vice president of the ruling MPLA party Luisa Damião has urged the Angolan youth to be more patriotic and participative in giving cohesive answers to the country's pressing issues.
Luísa Damião was speaking to the press shortly after her arrival in Menongue, Cuando Cubango, on Friday to chair a central event on Saturday, ahead of the 60th anniversary of the creation of the ruling party’s youth wing (JMPLA).
She appealed to the youth to increase the level of academic and professional knowledge, in order to respond to the coming challenges.
The politician reiterated the party’s commitment to work with the government to ensure the investment in the education of young Angolans.
Luísa Damião spoke of the need to continue to focus on the group (youth) considered the driving force of the Angolan nation, with stress to job creation.
At her arrival, the MPLA vice president, who heads a delegation from the party's central committee, was received at the local by the Party’s First Secretary in Cuando Cubango, José Martins, militants of the party’s women wing (OMA) and JMPLA, leaders, friends and supporters.
