Luanda - The main opposition UNITA party militants paid homage this Tuesday, at Sovsmo complex, in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda, to the deputy Vitorino who died Saturday (20), victim of illness.
During the homage, messages were read out from UNITA's female and youth branches, from the party's shadow government, from family members, as well as a video was presented that narrates the life and work of the late politician.
Speaking to the press, the president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, considered the death of Vitorino Nhani an "irreparable loss" for the country and his party.
"We have lost a citizen who always presented a very particular way of defending the interests of Angolans in the National Assembly", he stressed.
The agronomist Vitorino Nhani, born on 22 September 1958, in the village of Kunjuka, Londuimbali municipality, Huambo province, was a member of the Standing Committee, provincial secretary in Benguela, secretary for electoral affairs and secretary-general of UNITA.
