Luanda - The Ministry of National Defence and Homeland Veterans will, as of this year, train staff from political parties, in order to provide them with knowledge about defence and security issues.

The announcement was made Wednesday by the Minister of National Defence and Homeland Veterans, João Ernesto dos Santos, justifying that the sector he heads is republican and transversal and it is the State's task to train cadres, mainly young people, who in the future may occupy positions of political responsibility in the country.

According to the minister, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2021 pedagogical year of the National Defence Institute (IDN), the sector he heads also intends to train professionals linked to the area of communication, in order to give correct treatment to matters related to defence and security, in order to keep society well informed.

"Thus, it is of the utmost importance that we dedicate special attention to the training of young people who tomorrow may occupy positions of political responsibility in the country. We also intend to contribute to the preparation of those who, for professional reasons, have contact with matters related to defence and security", he underlined.
