Malanje- The minister of Territory Administration, Dionísio Manuel da Fonseca, defended this Thursday the reinforcement of the intervention capacity of the municipal administrations, with a view to giving specific answers to the main problems that afflict the local populations.
Speaking at the presentation of the new provincial governor of Malanje, Marcos Alexandre Nhunga, the minister considered the decentralization of power necessary, so that the municipal administrations have the competence to solve certain problems of the citizens without the intervention of the provincial governments. In addition, Dionísio da Fonseca reiterated the call for participatory and dialoguing governance, with different segments of society, with emphasis on traditional and religious entities, as well as other sectios of society.
He appealed for civic and exemplary conduct in favour of the development of the province.
The act was witnessed by municipal administrators, religious leaders and members of civil society and culminated in the passing of portfolios between incumbent and outgoing governors.
Marcos Alexandre Nhunga is the 12th governor of the province of Malanje, of the independent Angola, and replaces Norberto dos Santos “Kwata Kanawa”, now MPLA deputy for the Malanje ward.
Prior to this appointment, he served as governor of the province of Cabinda.
