Luanda – The death of the former President of Angola José Eduardo dos Santos, which took place this Friday (July 8th)in Barcelona, Spain, is highlighted in various media, which stress his political legacy.
In its online edition, the EFE Agency stresses "Ex-Angolan President José Eduardo dos Santos died in Barcelona", with a photo of the statesman in a polling station.
The same emphasis is given by the online edition of Euronews, which writes "José Eduardo dos Santos died", recalling that he had been "interned in a clinic in Barcelona since the 23rd of June, when he suffered a cardiac arrest".
SIC Notícias also highlights the fact in its online edition with the title "José Eduardo dos Santos, former President of Angola, died", stressing that the current President of the country, João Lourenço, has already decreed five days of national mourning.
The newspaper O Público headlines "José Eduardo dos Santos, former President of Angola, died at the age of 79", adding in its article that the statesman "was admitted to the intensive care of a hospital in Barcelona, after having suffered a stroke".
In its online edition, RTP underlines the event with practically the same title, "José Eduardo dos Santos, ex-President of Angola, dies".
