Luanda - The new judge advisor to the Constitutional Court (TC), João Carlos António Paulino, advocated, on Thursday, in Luanda, greater speed in the processing of cases at court level.
The magistrate, who was speaking on the sidelines of the jubilation ceremony of the venerable judge advisor Simão Victor, his predecessor, said it was necessary to have justice that was increasingly effective and closer to citizens.
“This only happens when we decide, in a timely manner, the facts submitted to the courts for consideration. Citizens believe with greater credibility in the justice that results precisely from the rapid, rapid and punctual resolution of issues that are placed before the courts for consideration', he highlighted.
On the other hand, he acknowledged that it will not be easy to replace judge Simão Victor, stressing, however, that he is prepared for the challenges that lie ahead in the new mission.
For his part, retired judge Simão Victor said that, during his seven years of work, he committed himself to guaranteeing the credibility of the courts.
“We often feel the outcry of the people and feel embarrassed when their rights are violated and we do not always have the capacity, at the right time, to be able to give these people peace of mind and repay their rights. Fortunately, credibility has been growing at the level of the courts and the effort has been to maintain the constitutional literacy of citizens, so that they can look to the courts,” he added.
The Constitutional Court is made up of 11 advisory judges, appointed from among jurists and magistrates for a non-renewable seven-year term.
Of these, four are nominated by the President of the Republic, including its president, an equal number are elected by the National Assembly by a majority of 2/3 of the deputies in office, two by the Superior Council of the Judiciary and one by public curricular competition. FMA /MCN/DOJ
