Luanda - The National Assembly has recommended the Government to exercise a more rigid control of inflation, especially in the prices of basic foodstuff.
The recommendation is made in the report on the implementation of the first quarter of the 2021 State Budget, approved Friday by the specialised working committees of the Angolan parliament.
The draft resolution on the quarterly execution of the State Budget will be put to a final vote at the next extraordinary plenary meeting of the National Assembly, scheduled for the 10th of this month.
The deputies concluded that inflation control should be carried out, within the scope of the Memorandum on the Stabilisation of Food Prices and Increase of Supply, approved in March of this year by the government.
They also recommended the adoption of quicker mechanisms for granting credit to national producers of goods considered essential, especially those projects included in the production and commercialisation chain of basic goods.
Within the scope of the transparency and good governance principle, the AN defends the adoption of measures to persuade budget units, which do not comply with accountability deadlines, "especially diplomatic missions and municipal administrations".
