Dundo - Attorney General’s Office (PGR) has pledged to intensify actions on investigation and fight against corruption, impunity and trafficking of minors in the country’s eastern region.
The Eastern Judicial Region covers the provinces of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico.
The institution said that it will invest in working standardising procedures and computerisation of procedural administrative services.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the first meeting of PGR in the region, the regional coordinating prosecutor, Astrogildo Culolo , spoke of the institution’s plan to strengthen its defence of the law on awareness among population.
He said that the institution will interact with civil society organisations dedicated to human rights.
As regard to illegal immigration and child trafficking, Astrogildo Culolo, said the institution will strengthen partnership with migration authorities to undertake a set of actions and concrete steps to halt these phenomena.
During two-day event, the magistrates from the provinces of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul and Moxico are discussing issues such as "Public procurement law as a tool to fight corruption", "Legal protection of children's rights" and "The role of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in parentage issue".
The meeting will also assess the reports of activities conducted in the three provinces.
