Luanda - Angola took part Friday, in the Azores (Portugal), in the formalisation of the Atlantic Centre, whose aim is to constitute a support front for peace and stability in the Atlantic region.
Angola was represented at the event by ambassador Carlos Alberto Fonseca.
The centre, an initiative of Portugal, which has been joined by 16 countries, including Angola, aims to bring together the Atlantic countries around what unites them: the Atlantic Ocean.
The ceremony was presided over by the Portuguese Minister of Defence, João Gomes Cravinho, and was held at Lajes Air Base, on Terceira Island, in the Azores.
The ceremony was also attended by high-ranking military officers from Portugal and political and diplomatic representatives from some of the countries that make up this Atlantic Centre.
