Angola and Israel cooperation analysed

Luanda - The President of Angola, João Lourenço, Tuesday in Luanda discussed with the Israeli ambassador, Oren Rozenblat, issues related to cooperation between the two countries.

The Israeli diplomat was received in an audience by the Angolan head of state, to whom he presented farewell greetings after four years of mission in Angola.

In statements to the press, after the audience, Oren Rozenblat expressed satisfaction for having verified, in all the Angolan provinces he visited, the agricultural development with important participation of Israel.

He said that, currently, there was a "very good" volume of business between the two countries, especially in the areas of agriculture, water treatment and health.

He noted that last year Israel had invested over US$300 million in agriculture.

Diplomatic relations between Angola and Israel began in 1993. In March 2006, trade between the two countries totalled US$400 million.

However, there has been a slowdown in recent years, due, among other things, to the fall in the price of goods around the world.
