Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, received on Thursday the leader of the opposition coalition CASA-CE, Manuel Fernandes, with whom he discussed issues related to the current social and economic situation of the country.

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting of about an hour, Manuel Fernandes said that the occasion served to analyse issues related to social factors, with particular emphasis on health and the drought affecting the populations of some regions of the country.

"The Head of State took good note of the issues under analysis, which in our view should contribute to mitigating some of the problems faced by citizens," he said.

Founded in 2012, coalition CASA-CE is made up of six political parties, namely the National Party for the Salvation of Angola (PNSA), Angolan Majority Free Alliance Party (PALMA), Angolan Pacific Party (PPA), Party of Support for Democracy and Development of Angola - Patriotic Alliance (PADDA-AP), Democratic Party for Progress and National Alliance of Angola (PDP-ANA) and the Democratic Bloc (BD).

CASA-CE is one of the current political forces with parliamentary seat, as in the last general elections (2017) it obtained 16 deputies, of which eight (8) disintegrated the political organization in 2019.
