Luanda - The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, today expressed sadness and grief at the death of Jerry Rawlings, former President of Ghana, on Thursday in Accra.
In a message of condolence, sent to the President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo, the Angolan Head of State considers that we are facing the "loss of an irreplaceable figure of the Republic of Ghana, who put all his energy, experience and knowledge in the protection of the noblest values of the Ghanaian Nation".
João Lourenço also states that Jerry Rawlings has worked hard "to build the pillars on which Ghana, that has become one of the most prosperous nation on the African continent, is founded today".
The President of the Republic extended the condolences, presented on his behalf and in that of the Angolan Government to the Government of Ghana, family and friends of the late leader.
