Menongue – Angolan head of State João Lourenço arrived Thursday morning in Menongue, south-east Cuando Cubango, for a two-day working visit to the region.
Thursday (10th), the first day of his visit, João lourenço will chair the Local Governance Council Meeting, along with the governors from the country’s 18 provinces, to assess various projects underway in the country.
The meeting will also study the measures and solutions to overcome eventual delays and constraints.
To participate in the meeting, the vice president of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, and several members of the Executive, as well as the 18 provincial governors, are already in Menongue city.
During his visit to Caxito, northern Bengo province, in June last year, the President João Lourenço chaired the Local Governance Council, during which it discussed, among other issues, the level of execution of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) was evaluated.
It also discussed the Programme to Reinforce Administrative and Financial Deconcentration and the Project to Create "Reference Schools", aimed to improve the quality of education in Angola in next five years.
During his 48-hour stay in Cuando Cubango, the President of the Republic will also visit the Missombo Larviculture and Fattening Center.
The USD 14 million fish production and processing unit, attached to the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, under management by Gesterra, is part of the Executive's strategy to improve and diversify the population's diet.
President João Lourenço will also meet with provincial government members and hold separate meetings with religious and traditional authorities, business and youth representatives.
