Luanda - Angolan Head of State João Lourenço swore in five new members of the Council of the Republic on Tuesday, thus bringing the body’s number to 25.

The new members are the entrepreneur Alfeu Vinevala Sachiquepa, the reverend Deolinda Dorcas Zola da Graça Paulo Teca, the environmentalist Fernanda Renée Ulombe Samuel.

Also joined the Council of Republic the academic Filipe Silvino de Pina Zau and the journalist and social activist Suzana Deolinda Sousa Mendes Viriato.

The appointment comes in the need to adjust to the composition of the body as a result of the constitutional change operated by Law number 18/21, of 16 August – Constitutional Revision Law.
