President congratulates Tanzanian counterpart on re-election

LUANDA – Angolan Head of State João Lourenço Monday in Luanda congratulated his counterpart John Pombe Joseph Magufuli on his re-election as President of the United Republic of Tanzania.

 

“Your election is the reconfirmation of the trust placed by the Tanzanian people who, by re-electing you, showed that they believe in your efforts and in the profound attainment of the policies you have been implementing with visible success,” said João Lourenço.

 

In a message sent to his Tanzanian colleague, the Angolan President also says he is hopeful that President Magufuli will stick to his policies to attain the great objectives of progress, wellbeing and prosperity of his country.

 

He also expressed the wish that the two countries will continue keeping a constructive cooperation between both governments, with a view to existing cooperation at multilateral level, within the framework of the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC), and at bilateral , seeking to boost the development of the two nations.

 

In the 28 October election, John Pombe Joseph Magufuli, with Chama Cha Mapinduzi party, beat his rival Tundu Lissu, Chadema party.
