Luanda – Angola’s head of State João Lourenço Monday inaugurated Huawei's technology park in Angola, an investment worth US$80 million.
Built on an area of 32,000 square meters in Talatona, Luanda, the infrastructure comprises three centres, the first of which is intended for training Angolan talent and engineers.
The second is dedicated to innovation (towards new technologies), while the third to advanced technological experiences.
In a first phase, the technology park will ensure the training of over 1,500 talents and engineers and, later, it will provide online training, which can cover an unlimited number of beneficiaries.
The technology park also has a Data Center and 3G, 4G and 5G Telephony Solutions and solar panels for homes and firms.
The infrastructure also offers energy solutions for prepaid systems, video-conferencing, artificial intelligence, smart home (remote connection of equipment).
In a mix of theoretical and practical classes, the center will provide training in 5G, data communication, network engineering and information storage in the clouds.
The institution will provide 120 jobs, mostly for Angolans.
The park stands out for having four training rooms with 32 seats each, three residential buildings for 180 employees, a cafeteria for 100 people, an indoor playground.
This is Huawei Technologies' third technology park in Africa, after Egypt and South Africa.
