Luanda  - The Angolan Head of State, João Lourenço, arrived this Sunday night in Madrid, capital of the Kingdom of Spain, for a two-day official visit, the first he is making to this European country since he took over as head of the Angolan State.

At Madrid International Airport, the Angolan Head of State, who is accompanied by the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço, received a warm welcome from the Spanish government authorities and senior officials of the Angolan diplomatic representation in that country.

President João Lourenço arrived in the Spanish capital from the United States of America (USA), where he took part in the debate of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, with a first stopover in Washington, where he was awarded for his involvement in environmental protection initiatives.

The State visit begins on Tuesday (28), when, in the morning, the President of the Republic will travel to the Zarzuela Palace for a meeting with King Filipe VI of Spain, followed by a meeting with the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sânchez.

According to the agenda, at the end of the morning, President Joao Lourenço and his delegation will be the guests at a lunch hosted by King Philip VI of Spain.

On Wednesday, the last day of work, a visit to infrastructural and institutional objectives based in the Spanish capital is scheduled, which will conclude another diplomatic action of President João Lourenço abroad, which also included Washington and New York (USA).

The State visit to the Kingdom of Spain is part of the new paradigm of economic diplomacy with which the country intends to attract more external investments, in which Spain fits as a priority.
