Conakry – Angolan head of state João Lourenço arrived Thursday Conakry for a two-day state visit to the Republic of Guinea, starting on Friday (30).
At Conakry Airport, President João Lourenço was received by his Guinean counterpart, Alpha Condé.
During his stay, the Angolan statesman has planned a private meeting with President Alpha Condé.
On his first State visit, João Lourenço will be awarded the National Grand Order of Guinea, in a ceremony to take place on Friday afternoon.
The friendly relations between Angola and Guinea date from the beginnings of the struggle for Angola's independence.
In recent years, the two countries have been working to increase relations in the economic, scientific, technical and cultural fields.
Angola and Guinea have excellent cooperation relations in the fields of defence, security, transport, mining and oil.
The Republic of Guinea is one of the member countries of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
