Parliament speaker pays last tribute to Raul Danda

Luanda - National Assembly (AN) Speaker Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos Thursday paid the last tribute to the opposition UNITA party’s MP Raúl Danda, who died on Saturday, victim of illness.

The Parliament Speaker offered his condolences to the bereaved family.

In the condolence book, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos highlighted Raúl Danda’s respect for difference and his contribution to national unity, defending his political convictions with respect, determination and balance.

He wrote that Raúl Danda was a fighter for peace and national reconciliation "which, unfortunately, leaves us at a time that still had much to give to our country".

He expressed feelings of condolence and solidarity to his relatives, presented on his behalf, that of his family and that of MPs of the National Assembly.

Also paid tributes to Raúl Danda, assistants of the head of Executive, the governor of Luanda Joana Lina, MPs, members of the Standing Committee of UNITA, church authorities, representatives of political parties, among others.
