Mbanza Kongo - Angolan residents in northern Zaire province, Angola’s region bordering with Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) are joining the voter registration update.
In order to ensure the progress of the Ex-officio Registration process, mobile teams have been mobilised to start next week, Zaire provincial director for Registration and Administrative Modernisation has said.
António Félix Kialungila, told ANGOP on Thursday that apart from the local residents the process will also covers citizens living in the other side of the border, in order to ensure their participation in 2022 general elections in Angola.
For those living in a foreign country, the process will be performed in Embassies, Diplomatic missions and Consulates.
As for the national citizens residing in the Central Congo and who experience difficulties in travelling to Matadi (DRC), they will participate in the process through the points to be set up in the border areas", Kialungila said.
Angola’s northern Zaire province shares 310-kilometer border with the neighbouring Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
The Ex-officio electoral registration, which kicked off on September 23, 2021 is scheduled to end on March 31.
