Luanda - A training seminar for Angolan technicians on "Understanding the functioning and reform process of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS)," is due to be held from 26 to 27 of this month, in virtual format, from Brussels, Belgium.

The event, promoted by the Angolan Embassy to Belgium and the Secretariat of the OACPS, aims to provide the participants with the necessary tools for a better understanding of the OACPS, "especially now with the new revised Georgetown Agreement," according to a press release that reached Angop.

According to Angola's ambassador to Belgium, Mário de Azevedo Constantino, quoted in the document, as saying that the 79-member states organization is undergoing a process of reforms and a new dynamic towards multilateralism, hence the reason for the seminar.

The approaches, the Angolan diplomat said, as well as issues relating to the organisation's operation and above all the current reform process, included the new partnership with the European Union.

The seminar is attended by Angolan diplomats from the Brussels mission and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, parliamentarians, as well as members of the ministerial working group, created under Presidential Decree No. 76/21 of 25 May, in order to better insert, train and monitor the various issues arising from the dynamics of the OACPS.

In the next few days, Angola will take over the chairmanship of the Committee of Ambassadors and the Council of Ministers of the organisation, as well as, in 2022, will organise the 10th summit of Heads of State and Government of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
