Luanda – Angolan minister of Foreign Affairs Téte António Monday in Luanda discussed the security situation in the Gulf of Guinea region.
This was during a courtesy visit to the headquarters of the Gulf of Guinea Commission (CGG).
The executive secretary of Gulf of Guinea Commission, Florentina Adenike Ukonga, took the opportunity to give a detailed on the subject, with stress to the issue related to maritime safety.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reached ANGOP, the meeting also focused on the upcoming Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission, that may happen in April in Abuja, Nigeria.
At the end of the visit, Florentina Adenike Ukonga said that the visit of the head of Angolan diplomacy to the Executive Secretariat of the Gulf of Guinea represents an important milestone and encourages the activities of the institution.
The Gulf of Guinea Commission was born out of the treaty signed in Libreville, Republic of Gabon, on 3 July 2001, by Angola, Congo, Gabon, Nigeria and São Tomé and Príncipe.
