Luanda – The opposition UNITA party last Monday, in Luanda, confirmed the formalisation of its push for the National Assembly (parliament) to set up an inquiry commission to investigate allegations of mismanagement by a former board of the state-owned Saving and Credit Bank (BPC).
The announcement was made by the MP Navita Ngolo, second deputy whip of UNITA - the country’s largest opposition party – who seized the occasion to announce that her party is also about to submit another request for an inquiry into the demolitions happening in the vicinities of the Sequele satellite town, in Luanda.
According to the source, the 2019 Accounts Report indicates that BPC recorded a financial downturn of 404.7 billion kwanzas.
ANGOP has learnt that currently the BPC is being considered to be technically bankrupt.
