Malanje – The ambassador of Zimbabwe to Angola, Thando Madzvamuse, this Monday manifested his country’s interest in investing in the sectors of farming and tourism in the Angolan north-central province of Malanje.
Zimbabwe intends to invest in the training of Angolan farming technicians, as well as in the assist with the production of maze seeds adapted to Malanje’s climate.
The diplomat – who spoke to the press in the end of an audience with the governor of Malanje, Norberto dos Santos “Kwata Kanawa” – assured that Zimbababwean entrepreneurs, experienced in seeds production, will be mobilised to come to Angola with a view to helping to boost the agricultural sector in the province.
Thando Madzvamuse commended Angola for progresses in its energetic sector in the past few years, an experience which Zimbabwe wants to absorb, especially in the construction of electric dams.
In view of such aims, the diplomat disclosed that negotiations have been taking place between the chambers of commerce of both countries, plus the involvement of the Angolan Private Investment and Exports Promotion Agency (AIPEX).
Thando Madzvamuse started on Monday a two-day visit to Malanje Province. In the same region, the diplomat is also expected to visit the former training base of Zimbabwean freedom fighters, located in Mucari Municipality.
