Luanda – Angola is attending in Geneva the 74th World Health Assembly that to analyse the future of the international treaty on combat the emergencies, set the path for the response and the global priorities of the sector.
The agenda of the event, opened last Monday and going until 01 June, include overcoming the shortcomings detected during the current health crisis.
The event will also provide greater political force and ensure a better coordination for multilateral efforts developed for the purpose.
The in-person and virtual meeting is mainly focused on study, analysis and strategy on how to halt the global covid-19 pandemic, through science, solutions, commitment and solidarity.
The Angolan delegation to the event is led by the minister of Health Sílvia Lutucuta.
In addition to the official declaration, Angola plans to deliver a speech on behalf of the African Group related to the implication on public health for the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol.
