Covid-19: Angola reports 167 new infections, 156 recoveries

Luanda - The health authorities announced Friday the diagnosis of 167 new cases, four deaths and the recovery of 156 patients.

According to the Secretary of State for Public Health, Franco Mufinda, 108 cases were registered in Luanda, 22 in Cuanza Norte, 13 in Zaire, 10 in Huila, 4 in Cabinda, 3 in Benguela, 2 in Cunene, 2 in Cuando Cubango and 1 in Bié.

With ages ranging from 1 to 87, the list included 80 men and 87 wmone.

The deaths, he said, involved Angolan citizens living in the provinces of Huíla, with two, Luanda with one and Huambo with one case.

Of those recovered, 84 are resident in Luanda, 21 in Cunene, 20 in Bié, 18 in Huambo, 6 in Huíla, 4 in Cabinda, 2 in Malanje and 1 in Benguela.

The laboratories processed 1,797 samples, with a daily positivity rate of 9.5 percent.

163 citizens are under institutional quarantine, 207 are hospitalised and 2,339 are under epidemiological surveillance.

Angola has 35,307 positive cases, with 788 deaths, 28,802 recoveries and 5,717 active. Of those active, 11 are in critical condition, 20 serious, 164 moderate, 12 with mild symptoms and 5,510 asymptomatic.
