Luanda - Angola has registered, in the last 24 hours, 633 new cases, three deaths and 15 recovered patients.
According to figures released Wednesday by health minister, Silvia Lutucuta, 604 were diagnosed in Luanda, 13 in Cabinda, 8 in Huíla, 5 in Huambo, 2 in Bié and 2 in Benguela, aged between 1 and 78 years.

Angola has a cumulative number of 67,170 confirmed cases, 63,894 recovered, 1,564 active and 1,743 deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 2,868 tests were carried out and the results of which are expected soon. The Ministry is working with laboratories in Portugal and South Africa to find out which strain is circulating in the country.
The minister believes that the Omicron variant or a new strain is circulating in Angola, and so she urged the population to continue to redouble biosecurity measures, noting that the virus is circulating in the community, and that the risk is even greater in Luanda.
According to the minister, Angola has registered, in the last few days, many cases of sore throat, fever, joint pain, nasal discharge, loss of smell, symptoms very similar to other diseases such as Covid-19, so she advised people to go to the health units for diagnosis, in order to confirm or rule out Covid.
Currently the country registers 11.1 million doses administered, of which 7.2 million are only the first dose, a coverage of 47.9 per cent. Of these 3.5 million have full dose (24.3%).
The provinces with the highest coverage are Luanda, Cuanza Norte, Namibe and Cabinda.
Silvia Lutucuta said that 22,670 people had already taken the booster and 657,004 children and adolescents had been vaccinated.
She informed that soon the testing process will be decentralised and will be done by pharmacies.
