Covid-19: Bengo with 15 positive cases out of 1,509 tests

Caxito - The province of Bengo has from March to the present date, 1,509 tests that have resulted in 15 positive cases of Covid-19, highlighted (today) the head of the Planning, Statistics and Human Resources Department of the Provincial Health Office, Alfredo Silva.

In statements to the press, the official said that of the 15 positive cases, 12 are already recovered and three are asymptomatic. Meanwhile, of the 1,509 tests carried out during that period, 1,377 are rapid tests and 132 are molecular biology tests.

The official considered the epidemiological situation in Bengo province calm, despite its proximity to the country's capital (Luanda), the epicentre of the disease in the country. The provincial government also certifies that the pandemic indicators in the area are stable.

Meeting recently in Ordinary Session, the local government called for biosecurity and pandemic control measures to be redoubled, and awareness-raising actions to be strengthened, together with residents' committees, churches and other civil society organisations.
