US ambassador hails Angola engagement against covid-19

Soyo - The ambassador of the United States of America (USA) to Angola, Nina Maria Fite, this Thursday in Soyo, Zaire province, congratulated the efforts undertaken by the Angolan Government in the fight against Covid-19 in the country.

The diplomat made this statement on the sidelines of the official ceremony of the formal handover, to the Angolan Government, of the field hospital for the treatment and internment of patients affected by this pandemic.

"I would like to congratulate the Government of Angola for the successful mitigation of Covid-19 to date. The timely taking of measures to control and combat this disease has mitigated the spread of the virus and strengthened the health system," she said.

Nina Maria Fite reiterated that the current US President will continue to provide support to local authorities and partners to address global challenges.

She said it is one of the priorities of the current US administration to fight this pandemic and help the world community to win that fight.
