Mbanza Kongo - The governor of Zaire province, Pedro Makita Armando Júlia, reiterated Tuesday in Mbanza Kongo the appeal for the need of continuous observance of individual and collective prevention measures against Covid-19.
Speaking to the press, Pedro Makita Armando Júlia stressed that Covid-19 is not a "fairy tale", as some circles in Angolan society try to make people believe, noting that in the country the disease has already killed hundreds of citizens, 20 of which in Zaire.
He also recalled, as measures recommended by the competent health authorities, the correct use of face mask, disinfestation and regular hand washing, respect for social distancing, among others.
He also encouraged the vaccination against covid-19 and voluntary testing, as well as the urgent search for health services in case of suspicious symptoms.
"We have a duty of care to our family and society," he emphasised.
