Luanda - The Angolan government announced Wednesday the easing of restrictive measures to prevent and fight Covid-19 in the province of Luanda, as part of the update of the Decree on the State of Public Calamity.
Among the new measures included in the Presidential Decree on the Situation of Public Calamity is an increase of the work force, in Luanda, from 50 percent to 75 percent in public and private services.
The exception is education, health, defence and public order, the media, energy and water, ports and airports, bank branches and solid waste collection services, which will have to keep the workforce at 100 percent.
The government also ordered that restaurants and similar establishments, as well as non-dance cultural activities (shows) and cinemas, would be open at weekends from 6am to 10pm.
For that, he recalled, they should maintain strict compliance with biosecurity measures and with only 50 percent of their capacity.
According to the Minister of State and Head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, Luanda province remains under sanitary fence.
In order to prevent the importation of new variants of the disease, the Government maintains the ban on the entry of non-resident foreign citizens, coming from or passing through Brazil and India.
