Viana - A delegation from the National Assembly's sixth committee learnt Tuesday about the functioning of Kapalanga Hospital, located in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda.
The visit is part of the oversight and advocacy role of the members of this committee, which deals with issues of health, education, higher education and information technology.
It served as an opportunity for MPs, doctors and patients to exchange views.
Speaking at the end of the visit, the coordinator of the health section of the sixth committee, Arleth Borges, said the activity has made it possible to assess the difficulties faced by users and staff.
The delegation recommended rational management of the hospital's resources.
MP Arleth Borges added that the group will advocate to the Ministry of Health for better attention to be paid to the hospital when hiring new staff for the health sector.
The director-general of Kapalanga Hospital, Maria Emília Katyva, said the visit is of great value.
"The MPs are the voice of the people and we hope that the concerns presented here reflect what the users feel and that they are resolved as quickly as possible," the MP said.
The hospital provides inpatient services, pediatrics, surgery, orthopedics, psychiatry and cardiology. FCC/HDC/OHA/DAN/AMP
