Uíge – A total of 7,200 people, including children, adults and the elderly, benefited from free health consultations in the municipality of Uíge on Friday, on the occasion of Doctor's Day.
The general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, dermatology, ophthalmology and pharmacy consultations took place at a provincial fair, where people from the villages of Ana Candande, Candombe Velho, Dunga and Mongoalheme were attended.
Speaking to ANGOP, the fair's coordinator, Elsa Jacinto, pointed out malaria, diarrheal and acute respiratory diseases as the most consulted pathologies, with serious cases being transferred to the Uíge General Hospital.
In turn, the director of the Provincial Health Office in Uíge, Kavenaweteko Malavo, considered the results obtained to be positive, as it brought health services closer to communities.
The fair took place under the motto "Doctors Together for Life" and brought together more than 40 doctors, 7 lab technicians and 9 pharmacists. EPP/NM/OHA/CF/DOJ
