Luanda - Angola’s Health minister Sílvia Lutucuta Friday in Luanda expressed satisfaction with the results achieved by the Cardeal Dom Alexandre do Nascimento Hospital Complex for Cardiopulmonary Diseases.
Sílvia Lutucuta mentioned 270 highly complex surgeries on vertebrae and skulls, conducted at the health facility.
Speaking at the end of a lecture, held at that hospital unit, the minister mentioned the whole path from the first interaction with the patient, good diagnosis, complementary exams and good information.
She defended commitment and compassion, looking at patients as a whole.
Sílvia Lutucuta asked health professionals to stop being arrogant, because people who have a lot of knowledge are simple, friendly people who care about the well-being of their patients.
The minister also announced plans to provide training opportunities abroad with some valences that are not available in the country.
According to the minister, there is a staff training plan. The sector is working with the World Bank to obtain funding.
She added the goal is to reach 38,000, the number of specialided professionals from different health careers by 2027 to continue to improve the quality of care provided to the population.
On the other hand, she explained that the country has only 17 Angolan neurosurgeons to serve the national health network, but approximately 30 doctors are undergoing training in this area in various hospital units in the country. DJ/VIC/NIC
