Luanda – Angola’s Ministry of Health (MINSA) promotes Monday (16) the First Conference on Health Boards in Angola, states a press release from the institution reached Angop on Sunday.
The meeting will discuss issues such as the overhaul of the National Health Board, its adaptation and insertion in national and international context.
The Angolan Government suspended all National Medical Board processes in the countries like Portugal and South Africa in 2021.
The suspension of the Medical Boards results from the large investments in infrastructure and in specialized medical services in terms of health, as example those of dialysis, which was one of the main gaps in the National Health System.
The government had announced that the restructuring of the Board of Health complies with rules and values of regulation, innovation and pragmatism.
This ensure the respect for principle of equal opportunities, as it does not cover a large part of the population with serious pathologies and without treatment at the country level.
Available data show that the country had 245 patients and 130 companying persons at the expense of the national medical board in Portugal.
On each patient, the government spent 5 million kwanzas on an annual average, according to the data.
In the last decades the government spent about 6 million euros on 9,360 patients and 5,250 companions annually, who benefitted from medical board in Portugal.
