Moçâmedes- Over 10,500 Health professionals are being trained in several specialities in the country, according to the Health Minister, Sílvia Lutucuta.
These are specialists in the areas of family medicine, orthopaedist, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, anaesthesia, neurosurgery, general surgery, ophthalmology, among other technicians.
Sílvia Lutucuta, who was speaking to the press at the end of her visit to the Ngola Kimbanda Provincial Hospital, pointed out the need to focus on the continuous training of diagnosis technicians and on the updating of new contents linked to the health component.
"We feel, in fact, that there is engagement and people are learning to make a difference, gaining new knowledge and working together for the improvement of the health of the population, putting differentiated services in place," she said.
Silvia Lutucuta expressed satisfaction with the creation of the medical specialty internship in Namibe, where seven hospital units dedicated to training doctors are registered.
Over a period of three to four years, more than 20 doctors are being trained in this specialty internship.
The training process is supported by Angolan and Cuban medical specialists working locally.
The medical specialty internship in Namibe is geared for classes in different specialties, based on seminars, practical activities in the form of modules in different school modalities.
"We have to refer professionals to come and take part in the Namibe boarding school. I realised that there is a will to do differently and believe that it is possible, a spirit that we all need to make the country grow," added the minister.
The minister stressed that the sector is moving towards a very different dynamic, with the holding of public tenders, which is why it is necessary to make known the challenges and commitment of health professionals.
