Dondo - The delivery of an ambulance and a van to support the health sector in the municipality of Cambambe, Cuanza-Norte province, will facilitate the reactivation of the consultation process in the communities, the head of the sector, Miguel Coxe, said on Friday.
The municipality was recently awarded with an ambulance for the transport of patients and a van to support the travel of technicians to the communities.
Speaking to ANGOP, Miguel Coxe stressed that the van will boost medical consultations in the communities, suspended two years ago due to lack of means.
He said that on average five to six patients are transferred from Cambambe per day to the Provincial Hospital of Cuanza Norte, hence the relief that the new ambulance will bring.
With these means, the health directorate in Cambambe now has two ambulances and an equal number of support vehicles, one of which is to be recovered, which will facilitate the mobility of technicians and patients.
Located south of Ndalatando, the seat of the province of Cuanza Norte, the municipality of Cambambe has an area of 5,212 square kilometers and an estimated population of about 99,000 inhabitants, distributed in four communes.
The local health network consists of 27 units, including a municipal hospital, a health center and 20 posts.
The sector is staffed by 14 doctors, 121 nursing technicians and more than 60 hospital support technicians of different categories. MF/DS/OHA/DOJ
