Cuito - Members of political parties with parliamentary seat visited the Dr. Walter Strangway Hospital in the city of Cuito, in the province of Bié, this Saturday to learn about its functioning, especially in the difficulty of access by the patients' companions to the interior the hospital unit.
Since its inauguration, on October 12, 2020, by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, the hospital's management does not allow patients to have companions, a reality that did not happen in the province, since many sick people come from various distant locations with their relatives.
In addition, visits are also very limited, which has caused many complaints from users. It was for this purpose that it led the entourage of members of the MPLA, Unita, FNLA and PRS to go to the place, where the director general of the institution, David Abel, assured that the impediment inside this health unit aims to preserve the health of their own relatives.
The official explained that the hospital, although clean, contains several viruses and radiation, which can harm their health.
The measure also aims to prevent the transport of bacteria from the inside and outside vice versa.
