Luanda - The National Union of Medical Doctors of Angola (SINMEA), announced this Saturday the immediate suspension of the strike that has been registered since 6th December.
According to the president of the union, Adriano Manuel, who was speaking during the workers assembly, the lifting of the strike results from the agreement reached with the government in the meeting held last Friday, 17, in the presence of the ministries of Health and Public Administration, Labor and Social Security.
During the assembly, the professionals agreed with the 90 days proposed by MINSA to review the integration of doctors, leaving the normal remuneration regime to the special one.
The physicians from the public health units are demanding a salary readjustment, the payment of subsidies, better working conditions, and the integration of more professionals, among other demands.
