Malanje - The president of the Evangelical Alliance of Angola (AEA), in Malanje, Bernardo Huieba, expressed today the church's interest in supporting the government in providing services in the areas of health, education, humanitarian assistance and the promotion of peace and justice Social.
Speaking at the thanksgiving service for the 49th anniversary of the founding of the Alliance, celebrated on the 27th of this month, the pastor said that this measure aims to contribute to the well-being of citizens and constitutes the social responsibility of the church as a partner of the State.
Without giving details, he said that in 2024, the church will work with the provincial government of Malanje in the execution of social and economic projects and advocacy, especially aimed at the neediest families.
He pointed out the reinforcement of civic education campaigns, the rescue of moral, cultural and civic values among the citizens, as tasks to be developed in the coming year, aiming at the preservation of public goods and the promotion of healthy coexistence.
The AEA's youth representative, Balduino Manuel, called on the youth to cultivate the spirit of preservation of public heritage and unity, having highlighted the role that is expected of this social layer in the rescue of moral, ethical and civic values.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Director of the Ladies of the Covenant, Tomasia Francisco, considered that women have the responsibility to educate society to follow Christ and obey the divine guidelines and those of state authorities.
In turn, the representative of the government of Malanje at the event, João de Assunção, pointed out the existing partnership between the church and the State, as a factor of stability, since it has always been favorable to the actions of the Executive, with emphasis on the education and health sectors.
Meanwhile, João de Assunção reaffirmed the willingness of the provincial government to continue working with the different religious denominations, with a view to preserving and consolidating peace among the citizens.
