Luanda - The minister of State and Chief of Staff of the President of the Republic, Adão de Almeida, last Tuesday announced that the country remains under a health fence for another thirty days.
Speaking at a press conference to update the measures of the Decree on Public calamity, Adão de Almeida stressed that the reasons that led the Executive to decree the closure of national borders still prevail, coupled with the emergence of new strains of the virus in some countries.
“The national health fence remains valid. The Executive intends to prevent the entry of new variants of the virus in the country, reducing the population's risks”, reinforced the minister.
Regarding passengers coming from countries whose flights continue to take place, Adão de Almeida informed that they will continue to be submitted to post-landing tests and home quarantine.
Those coming from countries with circulation of the new virus variants will be subjected to institutional quarantine, contrary to what has happened to date.
Adão de Almeida stressed, however, that the Angolan Government, if necessary, may suspend air connections with countries that present a risk in terms of importing the Covid-19 virus.
