Malanje - The administrator of Massango municipality, north-east Malange province, Luís João José, asked the National Police to reinforce the staff on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) aimed at stopping the illegal entry of Congolese citizens into Malanje province.
The concern was raised Wednesday during the meeting the Provincial Commander of National Police in Malanje, Commissioner João Cariqui, held with the authorities of Massango.
The local administrator, Luís João José, described as poor the police coverage allegedly due to the lack of police border personnel along the border with DRC.
This situation has facilitated animal thefts, armed robberies and other crimes in the territory of Massango, whose perpetrators are believed to be Congolese citizens, he said.
The municipality of Massango shares a river border of 147 kilometers with the DRC.
