Luena - The governor of Moxico, Gonçalves Muandumba, Friday called for the participation of local businessmen in the development and modernisation process of the city of Luena.

The governor made this appeal during a consultation meeting with the province's businesspeople, which aimed to find out about the difficulties and discuss ideas for improving the business environment.

He said that the business class is a strategic and privileged partner of the government, as it should support and collaborate in the execution of ongoing actions, which aim to make the province more "cheerful, attractive and colourful".

"Each of us should do something for the benefit of the city, where whoever has the possibility to paint a wall should do it, because in this way we all win," he said.

During the meeting, Gonçalves Muandumba announced the existence of a project that provides for the restoration of roads and pavements in Luena's peripheral neighbourhoods, particularly Popular, Santa Rosa, Passa-fome and Tchifuchi.

The projects are part of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and other existing programmes in the region.

At the end, the Moxico municipal administrator, Quintas Sempieca, speaking at the meeting, said that businesspeople have a strategic role in the development process of the city of Luena, as many of the commercial facilities are located in the main roads.
