Cuito - The Government of Bié launched Wednesday, in Cuito city, the Provincial Journalism Prize Edition 2020, with the introduction of the category of Photojournalism, unlike the previous ones that only covered the Press, Radio and Television.
The award, valued at 3 million kwanzas, aims to encourage and distinguish creativity, journalistic research, promote quality and merit of professionals, raising the awareness of the population, especially the sense of patriotism, unity, reconciliation, engagement in the tasks of reconstruction and development of the province.
The works published between November 14, 2019 and December 18, 2020 will be evaluated, and the awards will be announced and presented on December 27 this year.
The vice-governor of Bié for the Political, Social and Economic sector, António Manuel, who presided over the activity, encouraged the journalistic class to continue working to preserve the inalienable values of national independence, sovereignty, democracy, tolerance and national unity, especially in preserving peace.
In the 2019 edition, the prize was valued at 1.5 million Kwanzas and had 10 competitors.
